Kate Holmes spent her childhood with her adoptive family in Yorkshire. She was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University where she obtained a degree in Law.
With a keen interest in the welfare of others, Kate spent many years working with the Citizens Advice Bureaux Service helping clients to tackle debt, benefits, housing, employment and family matters.
Kate is a keen writer and has significant experience of promoting causes in the print and broadcast media. Her work in this regard was recognised by a Cosmopolitan Magazine Woman of Achievement Award in 1993.
Kate has worked for international, national and local charities in paid, voluntary and trustee roles.
Kate has experience of organising a variety of events from craft fairs to peer-supported Action Learning Sets to high-profile conferences including one in Doncaster Prison!
Kate has a happy family life with her partner and three young children. She is more of a slummy than a yummy mummy!
In the little spare time Kate has, she enjoys eating out, theatre trips, country walks with her Labrador, cookery, reading and listening to music.
